Dear Scouter,

On March 21, 2015 a decision was made by both San Gabriel Valley Council and Los Angeles Area Council to form a new consolidated council serving over 21,000 youth.

As we move forward to combine operations we must determine the best approach to operate our four Boy Scout summer camp programs.

 

Our goal is to be sure every scout that wants to attend a camp experience does go to the camp of his choice. We are blessed with three wonderful mountain facilities and Camp Cherry Valley on Catalina Island. With our consolidation all scouts can now enjoy in-council rates for all summer camps and campership's are also available if desired.

 

We are reaching out to all troops this year to consider signing up for a first visit to one of our summer camps, come back for another visit or increase your reservations with your new first year scouts. Your camping dollars spent in our camps will help maintain and grow our council camps for the future.

 

To make the best financial decision on how to move forward with camps this summer, we need to be sure camps will pay their own way to support programs and staff. On April 15, 2015 a decision will be made regarding which facilities will operate this summer. The more scouts we can enroll in camp the better chance we have to successfully run all facilities.

 

If you have been holding off on booking your troop in camp this summer please consider supporting our LAAC/SGVC camps, WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT NOW.

 

Who goes to camp? Everyone! Our council will see to it that every scout goes to camp, just let us know when.
